The New Forest Meddlars is a mixed Morris dance side, formed in 1990 and based in Lyndhurst, in the New Forest.

The name is derived from the medlar tree, whose fruits are eaten when they are just turning rotten (a comment on our dancing?), and our habit of 'meddling' in all traditions of Morris.

We dance mainly in the Cotswold and Border traditions, with some Lichfield dances. We vary our performances with new dances some collected at festival workshops and some we devise ourselves.

We meet most Tuesday evenings in Lyndhurst during the winter months to practice and to learn new dances. New musicians and dancers are always welcome if you have no previous experience of dancing, we are able teach you and it is a great way to keep fit.
