About us

Our side was formed in 1990, and we perform dances from a number of traditions, hence our name ‘Meddlars’.

We dance in the Cotswold and Border traditions, in which we wield various sized sticks, and dances from Bampton and Adderbury using hankies. We often dance out in summer (May to September) with other sides that dance in the North West clog dance and "rapper" sword dance traditions, so that our audiences can enjoy the full range of English Morris. We meet once a week throughout the winter to learn new dances and to polish up on the old favourites and enjoy a social drink afterwards. We have but one of the original members left in the side and many of us dancing today only joined a very few of years ago, which proves it’s never too late to start!

We are always looking to recruit dancers and musicians Contact Bob via email bob@newforestmeddlars.co.uk
