Honeypot - our chosen Charity
If you watch us dance, chances are that you will have a collection tin rattled under your nose by a (not very) menacing Meddlar. Every penny we collect from our generous audience, together with some of our own funds, goes to Honeypot, a charity which provides help and support to young carers locally. We have high hopes for this year as we began accepting card payments as well as your hard earned pennies, but we are waiting for a match funding opportunity to arise before we can double the money and reveal the 2025 total. Watch this space!.

There was a bit of a buzz round this dance at Woodpecker's Care Home!

2024 - A Record Fundraising Total
Representatives from the Meddlars again met up with Bumble from the Honeypot children's charity to hand over a cheque to go towards support for young carers locally. Last dance out season we excelled all former efforts and were able to hand over a cheque for £1,500 to go towards making a difference to the lives of some very deserving young persons.

2023 Bumble flies into Hythe
On a bracing, breezy winter's day the Meddlars met with a warmer-looking Bumble from the Honeypot children's charity to hand over a cheque for a massive £1,200 to go towards support and holidays for young carers locally.
The money was collected during our 2023 dance-out season at pubs, festivals and fetes and our thanks go to our generous onlookers for their donations, and also to our persistent, persuasive collectors, proud practitioners of the dark arts of extortion for a good cause.

2021-22 Honeypot House
Our charity for 2021-22 was Honeypot House in the New Forest. - a magical place which gives support and respite for young child carers aged 5-12 years.
A few of us visited Honeypot House to hand over funds collected during our two dance-out seasons. We were given a talk on the many ways in which the charity works with young carers and had a full tour of all the wonderful on-site facilities - it made us all the more determined to step up our fund-raising efforts next year.
